Cross-stitch Chrono Trigger

I’ve been working, going to classes, and on vacation. Animal Crossing: New Leaf was released, followed by Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn.

But I’ve also been crafting!

ImageCross-stitch pixel art from my most favorite game in the world, Chrono Trigger.

I originally made this blog for my crocheting and knitting adventures, but I do more than just that. Cross-stitch, sculpey, even makeup I consider a hobby. So I’m thinking I will branch out… and possibly need a new blog name.

Granny Up For Oklahoma

There is an organization called Crafted Hearts Alliance that is collecting crocheted granny squares to make afghans and baby blankets for the victims of the tornadoes in Moore, Oklahoma. More information can be found on their blog.

Here is a snapshot of my squares so far.

Lovely Knitted Sweaters

I’ve now finished knitting three projects! Including a lovely crochet/knitting combination summer hat. I have now learned to cast on, knit, purl, bind off, and work in the round. Pictures to come soon. But for now I wanted to highlight some knitting patterns that I love. They’re still a bit to advanced for me, but they’re the kind of patterns that I want to make someday, and inspire me to keep knitting!

Someday I will make these beautiful sweaters and cardigans! I included links to the patterns if you were interested in them. They’re not mine of course, but they deserve love!

Do you have any favorite knitting or crochet patterns? Feel free to share!

Sheep Amigurumi

So I’ve been knitting a lot! But since I’m a novice, the tension is all nice and uneven and I’m really slow at it. I’m using English style after a failed attempt at Continental knitting, so, again, as a novice, I’m using that huge throwing motion that is already making my wrists hurt. I’m hoping as I become more efficient I can start flicking the yarn or otherwise become more efficient.

But I wanted to share a project I made for H’s grandparents this past Christmas.

Lamb Amigurumi

They raise sheep, so I thought this would be appropriate. This is the only picture I have, since I finished it late night before I gave it to them. The original pattern is located at Harugurumi. I changed it a little- I didn’t use fuzzy white yarn, and I changed the gray to a black, since they raise Hampshires. I love cute amigurumi!

Yarn, the ultimate de-stressor

This past Friday was ridiculously crazy, in that way where things that can go wrong, will.

So I decided to relax by going to my local Michaels.

Cotton yarn was on sale, and I’ve [still] been on a dish cloth kick, and I’ve also had some requests for them. I also picked up some other supplies for projects to decorate our place! More pictures to come when I finish those.

Learning to Knit

So I’m definitely an avid crocheter, but I always wanted to learn how to knit. I’ve had a pair of knitting needles sitting in my studio for awhile, still in their package, so I decided this weekend to sit down and teach myself.

At first I’m just ridiculously confused.

…but then I’m slowly getting it!

I still prefer crochet at this point, probably because knitting feels so slow to me because I’m so new at it! But my goal is to knit a pair of socks, and I won’t stop until I do! Though I think my first project will be a nice, simple dishcloth.

Fundraising for The World Race

So a friend of mine is participating in The World Race mission trip next year, visiting 11 different countries, and she has been doing her best to raise the funds she needs. I offered to help her out by selling some of my crocheted hats.

I’m selling three kinds of hats: my favorite Slouchy hat (shown above), the Flower hat, and the Poké-Slouch Pokémon hat. I’m also taking special requests too. You can check it out here: Lucy Morgan: The World Race.

If you want a crocheted creation from me, I highly recommend taking this opportunity, the price can’t be beat! Hats are only $15, $11 if you’re a student! After this fundraising is over, I’ll still be selling my creations, but the price will go up. Contact Lucy if you are interested.
